News : Sydney’s sleepmakeswaves release new single ‘Zelda’ and reschedule upcoming tour dates.

Progressive ensemble sleepmakeswaves will soon be releasing their forthcoming new EP ‘Out of Hours‘ through Bird’s Robe Records and will form a trilogy of EPs due for release in July, following the success of the band’s ARIA-nominated albums Made of Breath Only (2017) and Love of Cartography (2014), respectively.

The latest single ‘Zelda’ and is currently available on all major streaming platforms and will appear on the upcoming EP ‘Out of Hours’. The upcoming EP showcases heavy inspiration of 90s alternative/emo influences, all the while retaining the band’s signature emotional impact and trademark writing style.

The band comments:

‘Zelda’ is a bit of a departure for us. We’re trying to push the edges of what this band can do and play in these new spaces that call on different aspects of our influences. This is a bit of 90s posthardcore jangle with some shouting. We like it. 

The band is credited to self-producing, recording & mixing the new EP. Rather than following conventional measures, the band have opted out of a conventional release window. The band will release a collection of tracks throughout the year with the aim of a July 2020 release window for the ‘these are not your dreams’ trilogy of EPs. The first EP ‘No Safe Place‘ is now available, the second ‘Out of Hours‘ is due for release on Jun 5th and the final EP release ‘Not an Exit‘ is due July 10th.

The band is also excited to announce they’ll be back on the road in 2021 throughout Australia on the following dates with special guests Rolo Tomassi, direct from the UK.
