News : Miss May I touring Australia this November
American metalcore band Miss May I will be hitting up Australia for the first time this November to promote their brand new album, ‘Shadows Inside’, out now via Sharptone Records. The tour will commence on November 20th in Brisbane and conclude in Perth on November 26th, with dates including Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney and Adelaide. In addition, US hardcore outfit Sylar have been announced as the official tour support.
Tickets on sale this Wednesday (July 19th) via Destroy All Lines from 9am (local time). www.tickets.destroyalllines.com
A staple of the global metal circuit since their formation in 2007, Miss May I have gone from strength to strength throughout their decade-long career, with their 2015 effort, Deathless, peaking at #5 on the US rock charts.
Shadows Inside is the group’s latest release, one that signals a separation from long-time label Rise in favour of the upstart SharpTone Records, the latest venture from Nuclear Blast CEO Markus Staiger and former VP of Sumerian Records, Shawn Keith. Described by the band themselves as a monster riff-fest and forcefully vocal driven, Shadows Inside is the Ohio-based outfit’s most challenging body of work to date, an album that is as raw, authentic and vital as anything else the genre has offered up this year.
With a whopping six albums to their credit, Miss May I have the back catalogue, road experience and pedigree to make this Australian trek their most electrifying yet!
Support comes in the form of eclectic New York quartet, Sylar, who are currently gearing up for a stint on the US edition of the legendary Vans Warped Tour. Branded as nu metal revivalists, Sylar’s sound is a layered and genre traversing affair that brandishes its love of hip hop, hard rock, electronica and metal proudly. Recently signing to the esteemed Hopeless Records, Sylar enlisted the production talents of Erik Ron (Escape The Fate, I Prevail and our very own Hands Like Houses) for their sophomore release, Help!
