Sydney’s Polaris have today made the exciting announcement that they have signed to Resist Records, and will be re-releasing their acclaimed sophomore EP The Guilt & The Grief (which debuted at #34 on the ARIA album charts and #2 on the AIR charts) for the first time on 10″ vinyl. The EP, which was originally released on January 29, 2016, will see its re-release on March 3rd.

“It’s my great pleasure to welcome Polaris to the Resist family. Polaris have been creating a buzz for some time now and we’re honoured to be working with the band.” says Graham Nixon, Resist Records while Jake Steinhauser (bass/vocals) from Polaris says “We’re absolutely stoked to be working with Resist. They’re one of the best independent labels in this country, they have an amazing history, and they definitely hold a special place for us as one of the first labels we used to dream of working with when we were young and starting a band. Between Resist and Cooking Vinyl we couldn’t ask for a better team behind us.

“We’ve had quite a number of messages from fans asking if we would ever put our stuff out on vinyl, and we’d talked about it ourselves for a really long time, so when Graham (Nixon) suggested it we knew it was absolutely something we had to do” explains Jamie Hails  (vocals). Daniel Furnari (drums) adds “A couple of us have been building up our vinyl collections over the past couple of years, so finally having our own music on an actual record is something we’re looking forward to a lot. I know a lot of our listeners feel similarly so it’s great to know that people will be able to own a copy of the record in that format.”

Polaris from Sydney’s south built their reputation on the road for the last 2 years as one of the most exciting live acts in the Australian heavy scene with a highly successful 2016. They toured consistently through out 2016 supporting the EP at an ever-increasing scale by selling out most of their own headline tour, supporting acts such as Parkway DrivePlini and Intervals and capped it off in a sold out East-coast tour with Northlane and Hellions in November.

Polaris kicked off 2017 with a bang in the form of a chaotic set at the UNIFY Gathering. This week begins their tour where they will be supporting Periphery nationally, along with Melbourne’s Circles.

Thursday 2 February – Max Watts, Brisbane 18+
Friday 3 February – Metro Theatre, Sydney 18+
Sunday 5 February – 170 Russell, Melbourne 18+
Tuesday 7 February – Fowlers Live, Adelaide 18+
