News : Mushroom Giant to headline 'progressive' Corner Hotel
Melbourne post rock band Mushroom Giant is set to headline a hugely talented progressive music lineup up at Richmond’s the Corner Hotel this 19th of June, 2009. Joing the band on the night will be the Jazz infused A State of Flux who recently released their debut recording to the public. Read the full press release below.
Welkin Entertainment writes: “MUSHROOM GIANT has always approached music as an art form. Liberated as an instrumental band and devoid of the usual clichés a permanent singer usually brings, Mushroom Giant has, with their 2008 release, “Kuru”, earned themselves a reputation as one of Australia’s premier instrumental bands. Their live performances transcend the conventional rock band with mesmerising compositions ranging from delicate classical arrangements with subtle shifts in shade, to intensely exerted barrages of howling guitars and drums – supported by visual projections of stunning imagery that thoughtfully complement each song.”
“Joining them on the night is a fantastic selection of some of the best bands Melbourne has to offer from a range of styles and genres: A STATE OF FLUX, THE NIGHT TERRORS, TERAMAZE & THE MOROCCAN KINGS will all be performing on the night, with innovative duo AFTERWHITE also providing performance art at intervals through the course of the evening.”
