News : Lineup Changes Signal New Beginning For Silent Knight
After the sad, but mutually respectful, departure of former Silent Knight vocalist Zoran Cunjak, they have today unveiled the new band promo shot, though the band declined to mention the specifics of Cunjak’s leave.
While Silent Knight are currently searching for a new drummer (with Dan Grainger filling in as session musician for the time being), the band have already found a new vocalist in Jesse Onur Oz (pictured above, far right). Jesse has played 3 shows for the band thus far (including the successful Stormrider Heavy Metal Festival in Perth) and, as the band notes, “has shown great skill and an impressive range”.
Silent Knight have also unveiled the gorgeous new cover art of their forthcoming EP, ‘Power Metal Supreme’ (which has been set for an October 25th release, but will be available for pre-order on 24th August through the band’s Big Cartel page), and teased the release of their second full-length sometime next year. The ‘Power Metal Supreme’ EP will be Silent Knight’s first release since last years debut album, ‘Masterplan’; an impressive release, and one which found itself seated comfortably in the middle of the Australian list of a certain reviewer’s Best of 2013 list.
Though the lineup has changed, as Silent Knight’s Facebook has shown, the band are more energised and driven than ever, commenting this:
The Power Metal Supreme EP will be a taste of the future once released on Oct 25. Launching the track Prisoner of Your World [on the EP] from the forth coming album due in 2015, fans also get a taste of Jesse performing the classic cuts from the Masterplan album with 4 blistering live cuts from his debut performance at the Stormrider Heavy Metal Festival
With the tracklist already out, and a special, fan-voted cover of the classic Helloween track, “Keeper of the Seven Keys”, slated for release on the EP, I’m sure I can speak for more than just myself here when I say I’m excited to see what’s next in store for this power metal band from Perth.
We’ll be sure to keep you all updated as more news on the future changes in the band develop!
‘Power Metal Supreme’ tracklist:
1- Prisoner of Your World (track taken from the new album due 2015)
2- Curse of the Black Rose (live)
3- Masterplan (live)
4- Silent Apparitions (in the night) (live)
5- Evil is thy Name (live)
6- Keeper of the Seven Keys (Helloween cover)
