News : A Hardcore/Punk/Metal benefit show for the Philippines
With millions of people left displaced, tens of thousands of lives lost and hundreds of thousands left homeless, the effect of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines was devastating. Despite the event no longer dominating media headlines, the road to recovery will be a long one, with many still without basics like food and water.
Let’s do our part.
Evan McLellan of Versus Merch & Design (and vocalist for Cold Ground) recently raised money by printing charity t-shirts, where 100% of profit went to the Red Cross for relief from the Typhoon Haiyan, but he hasn’t stopped there. He is running a benefit show at The Bendigo Hotel in Collingwood on the 22nd of December.
The 10 bands that are playing have all volunteered to play for free, and were drawn out of a hat to determine the order. The set times are below:
3:00 – The Maggot Men
3:35 – Rust Proof
4:10 – Organ Donor
4:45 – Declaration
5:20 – Hailgun
5:55 – Cold Ground
6:30 – WET Pensioner
7:05 – Caged Grave
7:40 – Join The Amish
8:15 – Jack The Stripper
Entry for the gig is $10. All proceeds will be going to typhoon relief services.
(Note: Rust Proof are replacing Crowned Kings as they had to pull out of the show)
