News : The Surrogate post band update

Brisbane Stoner Metal/Rock band The Surrogate has posted an update on all current and near future band activities. Read a review of their recent Split EP with Melbourne’s Worms of the Earth here.

“This Saturday we’re demo-ing a track that will be on our debut EP at Mud Hut Studios on the Gold Coast like the most epic studio in the world so we’re pretty psyched to say the least. Chances are this will end up being released on a split 7″ with another as yet unconfirmed Australian band.ll chuck it up on the MySpace when it’s all mixed and mastered, hopefully before the end of the year. So far we have three songs finished for the EP, with another two nearly finished. Probably write one more and do a six track release next year. Our music is getting more layered and technical, and Geno is really starting to get a handle on his vocals. From the concept of dreams on our last CD, a dream has lead us onto our next concept. The EP won’t have a strict story or anything like that but all of the songs will be to do with themes of space – planetary destruction, supernovas, black holes, the formation of nebulae, photons of light, comets, the concept of the speed of light and the delay in viewing intergalactic happenings, the simple beauty of looking upon another galaxy…

Also we are playing a free show next Wednesday with some cool bands so come along!”
