News : International band Project Ruins launch Kickstarter campaign

By on May 6, 2013

“Project Ruins started in 2008 as an academic project focused on creating music through online collaboration. The band is made up of five individuals living tens of thousands of kilometers apart who have in some cases never met, practiced or played with each other. Project Ruins is held together by a strong investment in trust and friendship between complete strangers, and nothing but their keyboards for communication.

Despite the obvious obstacles that come with such a isolated set up, the members of Project Ruins took on the exciting and challenging journey. Now five years later they have one full length record under our belt and we are now ready to share our latest creation “Closing the Season” with the world.”

With one guitarist from Chicago band Divinity Compromised, another from 7 Horns 7 Eyes, , a bassist from Poland, a drummer from the UK and a vocalist from right here in Australia (Perth, to be specific), Project Ruins certainly are spread around. Not to mention guest vocalists from the UK’s Chronographs and Burials, Sweden’s Freevil, and Australia’s The Coil.

Below is the first single “Cull”, so if you like what you hear, head over to Kickstarter and chuck them a few dollars so they can record the full album. There are some cool options up for grabs, including some killer shirt designs.
