News : Ne Obliviscaris’ only headline shows of the year
Here’s announcement that’s not too great for everybody outside of Melbourne and Sydney, but oh-so exciting for those inside: Ne Obliviscaris have announced their only two headline shows of the year. Expect 80 minute sets including brand new songsfrom them, plus awesome lineups in general.
Joining them at both shows will be the brilliant A Million Dead Birds Laughing, so if you haven’t seen them with their new vocalist yet, here’s a good chance. Melbourne also gets death metallers Hadal Maw and (the somewhat odd-yet-fantastic) choice of quirky prog rockers Toehider. And for Sydney, things sit on the progressive/melodic doom side of things with Rise of Avernus and Myraeth.
“Melbourne’s NE OBLIVISCARIS have had quite the year. Since releasing their debut album ‘Portal Of I’ worldwide in May 2012 (through Code 666/Aural Music & Welkin Records in Australia), Ne Obliviscaris’ have gone from strength to strength.
Having received rave reviews from every corner of the globe, including making many end of year best album lists, ‘Portal Of I’ saw NE OBLIVISCARIS quickly stamp itself as one of Australia’s biggest metal bands, whilst at the same time gaining them more and more attention throughout the worldwide metal scene. The massive hype that has surrounded the band led to them signing with one of the worlds premier metal labels SEASON OF MIST, (home to Morbid Angel, Cynic, Mayhem, Arcturus, Solstafir & more) and by any interpretation the future appears very bright for this band.
Having been tucked away writing their next album for most of 2013 thus far, the band is coming out of hibernation to play what will be their only Australian headline shows in 2013. Fans can expect plenty of new songs mixed in amongst fan favourites from ‘Portal Of I’!”
