News : The new Malignant Monster album will be signed in blood…

West Australian extreme metal outfit, Malignant Monster, are due to release their long awaited debut full length Yours In Murder January 2013, brandishing their unique strain of horror fuelled, nightmare metal. The album was engineered by, bass guitarist, Dave Sandstrom of Nightwind Studio, and mixed / mastered by Sverker Widgren of Necromorbus Studio (Stockholm).

Taking the most ferocious and blood-curdling elements of the thrash, death and black metal genres, they have constructed a viscous musical conglomeration, reeking with the overwhelming stench of madness, fear, murder and pure, unbridled evil. Each arrangement, carefully engineered with three main objectives in mind: tension, dynamics and adrenaline. Vocalist and main man, Cain Cressall, elaborates:

“The main idea behind Malignant Monster has always been to create music which instils a sense of horror in the listener but still encourages adrenaline and movement. As clichéd as it may sound, this IS evil music. That evil is so important to the music’s atmosphere and creating that real sense of horror. This is combined with a particular kind of honesty and realism to the lyrics which often take things very close to home, to really leave a foul taste in your mouth. It’s kind of a mixture of blood, rust and sick. At the same time, there is always close attention to vicious hooks, riffs and genuine extreme aggression”

Yours In Murder will be released independently in a unique package design, inspired by the singer’s fascination with letters written by murderers to authorities and victims’ families.

“I can’t imagine many things that would be more intense than being a parent receiving something so confronting while already being in such a terrible state. The absolute dread and horror that must come along with it. There is a lot more than just words contained in a package like that. The idea behind the concept was also to make the album very personal. It’s kind of a gift to our fans and any appreciators of genuinely evil and aggressive music. So much of the international metal scene seems to be so preoccupied with fashion, sub-genre categorization, haircuts and all sorts of pretentious shit these days. We’re a dying breed and this is like a personal thank you to those of us keeping extreme aggression alive in heavy music”

A special limited edition pressing of 500 copies will be released, complete with the Malignant Monster “MM” wax seal (designed, along with the band’s logo, by Belgian-born “Lord of the Logos”, Christophe Szpajdel), and signed/hand-numbered in Cain Cressall’s blood.
