Interviews : Electrik Dynamite – An unappreciated Sunday arvo interview with Duane ‘Ice’ Jackson

By on May 13, 2012

Electrik Dynamite – Duane ‘Ice’ Jackson

Combining the big harmonies and vocals of the 80’s with a modern edge and thunderous hardcore/death metal-influenced drumming, Melbourne’s Electrik Dynamite has made a huge impact on the local music scene, whether it be opening for classic metal legends, or even popular metalcore/death metal related bands. As a shock to most of their fans, they recently announced that their long time friend and original vocalist of the band Ryan ‘Maverick’ Reeve has parted ways with them. However, just a few days before that announcement, Metal Obsession caught up with bassist Duane ‘Ice’ Jackson and was told that he really doesn’t appreciate interviews at noon on a Sunday (as a joke). In the interview, we discussed their recent shows with the Black Veil Brides, Soundwave Festival, their debut album ‘Hair.Denim.Sex.Metal’, the hardcore/death metal music scene and much more.
