Majestic Film have posted an update on Facebook regarding the release of their upcoming debut movie entitled, WARRIOR, also known as ‘Metal Warrior’.

Developments behind the release of WARRIOR are getting more interesting by the moment. We are unable to make a press release for the moment. Note the fact that we have and will continue to promote our movie as WARRIOR and that we are entitled to do so from a legal perspective. However, it is most likely that cinema’s will screen It with an alternate title.

We want to make this clear so as not to confuse you. Tickets are now available from The Sun Theatre, who will screen it using the title ‘METAL WARRIORS’ and we have even managed a new genre. How about that for interesting? We are so itching to say more but we have to keep it under wrap until we get the all clear. Keep posted for developments and in the meantime, If you are in Melbourne, go see the movie.

Finally, the movie by Metal Heads about Metal Heads is being released for the public to see on the big screen! This is not another documentary but an actual feature film Produced by the familiar team that brought you the likes of ‘In The Flesh’ starring ‘The Poodles’, ‘Manowar’ and ‘Rhapsody Of Fire’ just to name a few. Directed by STEVE RAVIC (Metal Warriors & Majestic Film) and Co-Produced by himself and NEIL JOHNSON (Morphius Film & EmPire Pictures). The movie is set in AC/DC territory, filmed on location in Australia with several scenes filmed in Germany (at the Bang Your Head Festival), Croatia and a few other places.
With a premiere market screening at the official Cannes Film Festival in the famous Palais behind it, the movie was signed by a distribution company with big plans. Unfortunately, health complications by the companies owner followed by the global financial crisis which restricted ‘WARRIOR‘ by Steve Ravic from being released due to contractual obligations. The long time supporter of STEVE RAVIC and Australian Film Industry legend JOHN KEARNEY (Executive Producer of classic Australian films like Snowy River, Dogs In Space and a Producer at Crawford Productions during the glory years of the Nine Network) jumped on board to assist ‘WARRIOR‘ in getting released from the contract to enable new possibilities for its eventual release in 2011.
Just as ‘WARRIOR‘ was set for a proposed release around October 2011, issues relating to the name became evident and the little Aussie battler film was once again under pressure. There was another movie titled ‘Warrior’ being scheduled for a cinema release by Roadshow in the same month and being that the other ‘Warrior’ was through a major company, cinema’s would be concerned by putting out two movies with the same name at the same time. Producers of the original WARRIOR by Steve Ravic would not get the screen times in cinema’s due to It possibly being an interference for the Roadshow ‘Warrior’ release and the exhibitors would naturally have an obligation to go with the Roadshow release.
Having immense faith in the possibilities of the original ‘WARRIOR‘ by Steve Ravic becoming a cult hit, the renowned John Kearney and team did not want to go straight to DVD and continued to pursue a cinema release for ‘WARRIOR‘. Even though the use of the name ‘WARRIOR‘ did not pose any legal threats as there can be no claims on copyright of title names in Australia and the fact that ‘Warrior’ by Steve Ravic was first and even published as a feature film by the Australian Film Commission (now Screen Australia) back in 2008, the trouble with the name would still surface and so the name was classified with an alternate title also appropriate to the characters of the movie. Hence, ‘WARRIOR‘ now also known as ‘METAL WARRIOR‘ is ready to go and may appear on screens using either name. The positive aspect of having the movie on stand by for over two years, gave the Producers time to shoot a few additional scenes that previous budget restrictions did not make possible.
The team at Metal Warriors Pty. Ltd. and Majestic Film would now like to appeal to all Metal fans to support the movie! It was made with a passion about Heavy Metal and a long hard road to be able to realise a release for the movie. The movie also features a number of special guests appearing as themselves including German legends SCHMIER from Destruction, KAI HANSEN and the Queen of Metal DORO PESCH just to name only a few.

So as the motto of the film goes, it’s now ‘TIME TO ROCK’.
