News : Shellfin have a new vocalist (plus video footage of a new song)
Brisbane stoner rockers Shellfin (who are currently selling their first album at an anniversary price of $10+p&h from their Bandcamp page, go buy it) have a new vocalist, but as usual, their press release is more creative than anything we could come up with, so here it is:
“Anyone who’s every heard Shellfin will probably know that vocals are really just the sprinkles on the ice cream sundae that is this band, so when that singer guy got called back to his militant Serbian homeland we were pretty bummed but it was never really going to slow us down. Even without the sprinkles, we were still going to shove our bananas, nuts and whipped cream all in your face at Bastardfest a few weeks ago but as luck would have it, we managed to pick up some Canadian bacon called Doug and he generously offered to fill in the position of vocals. Much like the old singer, Doug doesn’t really want to be in this ridiculous band so everyone should come out to The Jubilee Hotel on November 4 and help us convince him to become a permanent fixture because let’s face it, he’s fucking brilliant. We’re pretty sure that between us, Dead End Kings, Kaleidoscope (NSW) and The Stone Fox that we will all be drinking the night’s profits away so come along, get trashed, and listen to some kick ass rock’n’roll.
We managed to capture some live footage of one of our most popular new songs ‘Iron Man’s Iron Heart’ from our last gig. It’s still new, so we’re still working out the kinks but everyone seems to love it and Doug absolutely kicks ass on it so we decided we’d share it anyway. Hope you like it.”
