Byron Bay hardcore/progressive outfit, IN HEARTS WAKE are set to do a national tour to promote the release of their split EP with THE BRIDE. The new SPLIT EP is currently in stores at all leading music outlets via New Justice Records. The national tour, entitled ‘The Dreamcatcher Tour’ will kick off on Thursday, 10th Feb in Perth with remaining dates shown below.

Press release:

What happens when two of Australia?s most promising progressive metal bands, famous for intertwining a profound sense of melody with a dissonant attack influenced by early punk and modern hardcore, get together? In the case of THE BRIDE and IN HEARTS WAKE, a “SPLIT” EP.

Having toured the SPLIT EP together in late 2010, Byron Bay’s ‘In Hearts Wake’ hit the road again throughout February and March to further promote their half of the EP! Finally taking their live show to the West Coast of Australia, In Hearts Wake will be sharing the stage with some of Australia’s finest.“We have seen split EPs work well in the past for some of Austrailia?s best artists so we thought why not, plus it was a great way to come out with our new vocalist and sound gearing up for our album,” says The Brides guitarist Matt Gravolin.

The “SPLIT” EP was derived over one of those drunken chats whilst the bands were on tour together earlier this year. “We had been on tour with In Hearts Wake for about a month and the more it was talked about, the more everyone got excited about the idea”. In June of 2010 In Hearts Wake entered the studio with Dan Brown whilst The Bride recorded at Electric Sun Studios in Sydney to record the 6-track EP that is each of the band?s third respective releases.

IN HEARTS WAKE emerged from Byron Bay in early 2006 as a 5-piece metalcore fellowship. Over their teenage years In Hearts Wake toured relentlessly and independently released both „Into The Storm? and „The Gateway?. Collectively, the bands have supported some of the world?s best including Something With Numbers (AUS), The Amity Affliction (AUS), Carpathian (AUS), Closure in Moscow (AUS), House vs Hurricane (AUS), For Today (USA), Oh Sleeper (USA), The Devil Wears Prada (USA), Blessed By A Broken Heart (CAN), Oh Sleeper (USA) and The Red Shore (AUS).
