Andrew W.K, the American rock’n’roll musician, performer, TV host, nightclub owner, Grammy-nominated producer, writer and motivational speaker, will bringing his “party hard” philosophy to Australian audiences this January. Infamous for his bloody nose, long black hair and white outfits, Andrew’s style is often both as shocking as it is exhilarating. Since he began his career in 2000, his fans (or as he prefers, “friends”) have embraced his “party hard” lifestyle with endless passion. With the release of his first album in 2001, I Get Wet, Andrew W.K. was quickly recognised not only as a powerful musical performer, but also as an uplifting personality for a new generation.

After the release of I Get Wet, Andrew went on to play hundreds of shows around the world, including his unforgettable performance at Meredith Music Festival in 2007. He has released four albums, had his music feature in many TV advertisements and movie soundtracks, and created numerous EPs and special releases. He’s a Grammy-nominated record producer, making albums and remixes for artists as diverse as Lee “Scratch” Perry, Good Charlotte and Hanson. He’s a motivational speaker, having lectured at Yale and New York University. He co-owns the award winning Santos Party House music venue in New York, a two level, 8000 square foot concert space and dance hall.

Andrew W.K. has developed into a highly sort after TV personality, making appearances on MTV, VH1, Conan O’Brien, Saturday Night Live, Carson Daly and Fox News. He’s hosts a popular TV series of his own, a live action children’s game show on Cartoon Network called Destroy Build Destroy, which is currently in its third season and drawing over 1.5 million viewers each week.

For his third trip to Australia in January, Andrew W.K. will bring his high octane rock’n’roll to the Big Day Out, Melbourne’s Hi Fi Bar and Sydney’s Oxford Arts Factory. And for the first time ever, Andrew will bring his full band along for the party!
