News : Slipknot enter Australian ARIA charts at #1

American metallers Slipknot recieved their first ever Australian #1 debut with their fourth studio album titled “All Hope Is Gone“. This was also Roadrunner Records Australia’s first ever chart-topper, so it’s understandable they couldn’t resist a gleeful swipe at the opposition.

They crowed: “‘All Hope Is Gone” didn’t just inch over the line but absolutely decimated the competition, outselling their closest rival in the #2 spot 3 to 1 and 2 to 1 on the digital charts where they have also claimed the #1 spot.”

Slipknot’s attack on the top of the charts is no fluke. They have debuted twice in the #2 position on the ARIA chart in the past: in 2002 with “IOWA” and again in 2004 with “Volume 3: The Subliminal Verses”. The band tours here in October with labelmates Machine Head.
