News : GC Music Industry Association showcases metal acts
The Gold Coast Music Industry Association (GCMIA) has teamed with Arts QLD and A-Venue team up to give local Gold Coast emerging hard rock talent the opportunity to support two major bands. This is through the all ages “Live At The Waterways” concert series.
The first, on Saturday April 17, is at the Albert Waterways Community Centre from 3.30 pm. It is headlined by hardcore stayers Mourning Tide and metal force Electric Horse. Mourning Tide recently returned from working with renowned engineer/producer Steve Evetts (Dillinger Escape Plan, The Cure, Every Time I Die) and Alan Douches (Mastodon, Cannibal Corpse, Madball, The Misfits) in the US to release their second full-length album, “Mourning Tide”. New rock/metal band Electric Horse is made up of former members of Gold Coast rock outfit Lump and Sunk Loto.
Opening slots go to emerging Gold Coast rock/ hardcore bands Sleepers, The Final Fall, Nine Sons of Dan and Skinwalkers. Further local businesses will show their support for the event with giveaways from Afends Clothing, Mistake Clothing and Darkside Skateboards. Tix at $20 from www.oztix.com.au.
