News : Empyrean announce band hiatus

Queensland symphonic black metal band Empyrean have announced the band’s hiatus due to a loss of enthusiasm in writing the band’s follow up to their 2008 album Quietus, which polled as MO’s #2 Australian Release of 2008 as voted by readers of the zine. The band commented…

“After numerous attempts to get things back into full on writing mode again; we found that had lost the spark and enthusiasm we had when we were touring. It is for this reason and with a heavy heart, I am announcing that EMPYREAN is being placed on the back burner and thus; is on a hiatus.

We felt that the songs we have begun to write were doing no justice to what we wanted to achieve and each of us will be concentrating on our own projects for while. We’d like to thank each and everyone of you who have supported us, came out to see us, fed us and sheltered us. And to every band we have ever shared a stage with up till now. Rest assured, EMPYREAN will be back, bigger and better than you have ever seen.
