News : Separatist announce new guitarist

As reported earlier this month, Tasmanian death metal act Separatist parted way with their founding guitarist David Gilbert. Thankfully however, the search for a replacement is already over the band who have studio time booked for their second full legnth, with current On Your Feet Soldier and Iciclan guitarist Mitch Golding oining the fold. Here is what the band had to say about it…

“Hey all, just wanted to let you know that the search is off, we have found our new guitarist!

After much deliberation, Separatist would like to welcome Mitch Golding (On Your Feet Soldier, Iciclan) to the fold! Mitch came to a few practices, jammed a few times with the band, and we were suitably impressed with how he went, and hence we asked him to join full time! Win? Yeah, i think so…

So yeah, welcome Mitch! His first show with us will be on the 20th of March with Psycroptic, Taberah and Ending Atrophy, should be mega sweet! “

As mentioned, the band’s next gig is with the mighty Psycroptic at Hobart’s The Brisbane Hotel, before the five-piece hit the studio to record a new album, the follow up to an MO favourite The Motionless Apocolypse (review). For more information, hit up www.myspace.com/separatist.
