News : Switchblade announce new album details

Sydney melodic-death metallers SWITCHBLADE have officially announced the title of the follow up to 2005’s ‘The End of All Once Known‘.

The new album titled ‘Invictus Infinitum‘, will be Switchblade’s second full-length album, and will be released late 2008 through an as yet undetermined record label.

‘Invictus Infinitum‘ will feature 9 tracks, and will be mixed and mastered in the USA by Grammy Award winning Producer Neil Kernon (Nevermore, Nile, Cannibal Corpse) in October 2008.
The album will also feature artwork by Melbourne artist Sheri Tantawy (Picture The End, Black Like Vengeance).

Drummer Mat Piccolotto commented on the new material:

“Over 3 years ago now we released our debut album, which was basically a collection of songs we had written at various stages of the band’s evolution… Some songs were written once the band had found it’s ‘sound’, but honestly most of them weren’t… This time we knew exactly what our sound was, and we were all on the same page musically from Day 1, and it really shows.“

“The songs are faster, heavier, better written, more coherent, and unfortunately for all of us much harder to play! There’s more solos, more blasts, more stupid double kicks… everything a killer metal album needs! We definitely challenged ourselves with this album and we can’t wait to release it and get back on tour!”

‘Invictus Infinitum‘ will also be the debut appearance for new Switchblade bass player Gerard Dack, (Infernal Method, None Shall Pass) who joined the band during the pre-production process for the new album.
