News : Karnivool Announce Nov/Dec tour, and supports
KARNIVOOL are pleased to announce special guests joining them on the Sine Waves and Mirrors tour. San Francisco based progressive rock band DREDG will be making a special trip out to Australia to tour with their Australian mates. The group has toured extensively in North America and Europe, playing numerous festivals, including Coachella and Outside Lands. On October 1st in New York DREDG will co-headline ‘Liner Notes’ with award winning author Salman Rushdie at Housing Works bookstore cafe. Housing Works is a New York-based AIDS service organization. The event is presented by SPIN and its SPIN.com Book Club, and will celebrate the recent release of DREDG’S fourth album, The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion, which was inspired by Rushdie’s essay “Imagine There’s No Heaven: A Letter to the Sixth Billionth Citizen.
Together for just over a year, post hard core Adelaide band COERCE recently independently released their debut album ‘Silver Tongued Life Licker’ through MGM. With the abrasion meets melody and groove of At The Drive In, Refused and TAAS all wrapped up in a 12” Silver vinyl LP w/ CD package, this human tale and social summary shows all shades of a black and white rainbow. Having launched their album in June via a national tour COERCE are building a solid fan base and KARNIVOOL welcome their addition to the tour.
‘All I Know’, the most commercial track from the Sound Awake album will be serviced to radio and TV later this month, keep an eye out for another stunning video from the band full of special effects with an abstract sci-fi style clip built around a bizarre labyrinth.
Whilst KARNIVOOL maintains its independence here in Australia, their ‘Sound Awake’ album is scheduled for release in the US in February next year on the SIN / Red network with a digital release due this month. The UK release of the album is scheduled for next month through Columbia records as KARNIVOOL tours that territory with local Ragga Punk Metal outfit SKINDRED. Sound Awake’s release in other European territories is being negotiated at the moment as is a Japanese release.
A reminder these are the last shows for KARNIVOOL in 2009, tickets are selling well so make sure you don’t miss out!
