News : Melbourne’s Screaming Symphony to celebrate its 1000th show, EYEFEAR to perform
Screaming Symphony, Melbourne’s longest running radio station dedicated to progressive and power metal for nearly 20 years will celebrate its 1000th live-to-air show on Thursday, 6th December on 106.7 PBS.FM from 10pm till 12am (AEST). To mark the occasion, Melbourne progressive metal stalwarts, EYEFEAR, will perform a live set on air from Studio 5 via PBS.FM Studios.
Every week for almost 20 years, from the station’s original studios in St. Kilda to the current home in Collingwood, hosts Gary and Peter have presented two hours of what many consider to be the most underrepresented of metal genres – progressive and power metal.
Hosts Gary and Peter comment:
We can’t believe we made it to show #100 let alone #1000 (we’re fairly certain there won’t be a #10000 – at least not with us). We started back in 1999 at a time when the genre was just coming back to life and we’ve seen it rise and fall multiple times since then. And many of you have joined us on that journey.
As always, the show is a labour of love and it’s great that Eyefear will join us on the night. We were looking for someone special to play. We’ll also be doing a special playlist on the night – but you’ll have to tune in on the 6th of December to hear what that is.
Make sure to tune in on Thursday, 6th December to celebrate Screaming Symphony’s 1000th live-to-air show with special guests, EYEFEAR.
