News : Hybrid Nightmares band members part ways
Melbourne based black metal outfit, Hybrid Nightmares, has announced the departure of two of the band’s members, guitarist Gumley and bassist, Jonny. The news came via the band’s official Facebook page stating the two members will perform their last show with Hybrid Nightmares on Monday, 7th May supporting Ihsahn at Max Watts in Melbourne.
Jonny, one of the founding members of Hybrid Nightmares, is retiring from live shows to focus on other pursuits but will continue his influence behind the scenes with Hybrid Nightmares in a more limited capacity.
Michael, who has been a part of Hybrid Nightmare since 2011, is refocusing his efforts on his guitar school.
However, it is not all doom and gloom for Hybrid Nightmare fans. The band has confirmed they will continue to spread fear across the lands with the enlistment of two new members.
We wish the boys all the best in their new, mortal lives back on Terra. But fear not, Nightlings, for we have already enlisted some renown Aussie metal titans to complete our lineup for the upcoming Divefest and beyond! For now, their identities will remain our little secret, but feel free to speculate for our entertainment. There will be no prizes for correct guesses, only judgment for incorrect ones.
Hybrid Nightmares are currently promoting their brand new album ‘Almagest’, out now via Nerve Gas. Click here to secure your copy.
Hybrid Nightmares next major performance will be at DiveFest, a charity event to raise funds for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre on Saturday, 9th June at Cherry Bar. Click here for more details.
The band will also be performing on the annual Hell On The Bay metal cruise in Melbourne on Saturday, 8th September alongside Whoretopsy. Two other bands have yet to be announced which will no doubt be confirmed in due time. For more information on Hell On The Bay and to secure tickets click here.
