News : Dead Of Winter Fest line-up announced
Brisbane’s heavy music and arts gathering, Dead of Winter, is set to return for its eighth year with the announcement of this year’s massive line-up featuring some of the best hard and heavy acts from home and abroad. The lineup currently features Frenzal Rhomb, Harlott, Radio Moscow, Desecrator, Lo!, Ocean Grove, Clowns and heaps more. See the poster below for the full lineup.
The Dead Of Winter returns to Brisbane on Saturday, 7th July 2018 as Dead Of Winter Attack of the Two Headed Beast, showcasing 46 acts at The Tivoli and Jubilee Hotel in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. Tickets on sale now! www.deadofwinterfestival.
The horror-themed event, now in it’s eighth year, has just dropped it’s second announce including Brisbane underground royalty Pangaea in what will see the band reform for the first time since 2011. New Zealand’s Alien Weaponry (announced on Wacken Open Air along with Clowns), a three piece thrash act who sing many of their tracks in their native language Te Reo Māori, join fellow countrymen and hard rock outfit Pieces Of Molly. Also added are WA Blacken Festival headliners Earth Rot, veteran party-starters Nancy Vandal (celebrating their 25th year), Deadlights, Harlott and many more. The new additions will join the 31 other first announce acts on the bill which include punk legends Frenzal Rhomb, Australia’s hottest heavy hitters Polaris, recent Download Festival favourites Ocean Grove and Clowns, US psych juggernaut Radio Moscow, heavy hitters Desecrator, Lo!, Pagan and more.
After a sold out 2017 event, organisers have upped the anti in 2018, doubling the size of the annual event with the addition of iconic Brisbane venue The Tivoli to the usual Jubilee Hotel festivities. Six stages, heavy-duty cabaret acts, an increased number of alt-stalls and food premium food trucks round out what will be one of the best days for alternative culture in Brisbane throughout the year.
Punters are also encouraged to push horror dress limits, with it not uncommon to see zombies, she-devils and monsters walking from stage to stage melding with music fans of all ages.
Dead Of Winter Festival co-programmer Christian Tryhorn says of the popular event “I’d say most of Brisbane’s heavier touring acts have played Dead Of Winter at some stage over the last eight editions. It’s great to see the Festival growing year to year to now being one of the standout heavy events in Australia. We’ve worked hard to pull a pretty amazing bill together and with the addition of The Tivoli in 2018, this will be one epic day.”
