News : Melbourne’s Eye Of The Enemy announce new bassist

By on March 19, 2018

Long-standing melodic death metallers from Melbourne, Eye Of The Enemy, are showing no signs of giving up after the announcement of the band’s long-term bassist, Ben Hunt leaving due to medical issues.

Ben Hunt comments:

“After 7 years with the Eye of the Enemy, unfortunately, my time has come to pass on the bass duties due to medical issues.

I’ve racked up many great memories and experiences in this time, across 2 albums and numerous live shows. Luckily there’s plenty more music and shows on the way from EOTE, which I’m excited to experience as a fan in future.

Thanks to all of you that supported the band over this period. The messages we received and encouragement made the hard work and time put in all worth it.

And lastly, thanks to all of my former bandmates that i shared a stage with. Many great times which I will never forget.”

Shortly after the departure of Ben Hunt, the band announced that James McInnes will be joining the band’s ranks and filling the role as full-time bassist.

On his recent appointment, McInnes comments:

“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be the newest member of EOTE. After meeting all the guys and jamming on some of the songs I know this band is going to be a hell of a lot of fun. I can’t wait to get on stage and tear it up, and help bring the new album to the world.”

McInnes’s statement is just further confirmation, along with the weeks of teasing, that Eye of the Enemy’s third album is well and truly on its way with the addition of new shows coming very soon.
