News : Nucleust announce new drummer and hit the road on ‘The New Symphony Tour’
It didn’t take long for Perth metallers Nucleust to fill the vacant slot left by recently departed drummer Shay Smith. After being inundated with submissions from all over the country, Nucleust set up a brief but exhaustive audition process and from that emerged just one choice.
Nucleust are thrilled to welcome Giuliano Macri to the fold! The 20 year old drummer comes via ambient black metal project, StaosNucleust comment: We are very excited to welcome Giuliano to our family as our new drummer and looking forward to our future endeavours with him for a new era of Nucleust.
Nucleust 2018 L-R: Josh Fox (Bass), Max Palizban (Guitar), Shannon Marston (vocals), Giuliano Macri (drums)
We were absolutely blown away by Giuliani’s technical skills during his audition and have seen many similarities in his taste and approach towards music compare to what we like in Nucleust.
He has fit in very well, already nailing the songs and is so at home in this band. Giulaino has big shoes to fill but luckily he has big feet!
Giuliano comments:
“I feel honoured to have the opportunity to be a part of and contribute to the Nucleust family as a musician, and individual. Surrounded by not only some of the utmost talented and inspired individuals, Max, Shannon, and Josh, have also proven to be the most friendly, intelligent, and driven group of friends I could ask for.
As the drummer of Nucleust, my personal goal is to deliver the most relentless live performances and groove I possibly can. It is my intention not just to satisfy your progressive music needs as a musician, but too also exceed them and shatter your expectations.
I’m looking forward to showing you all what I have in store alongside my brothers in Nucleust. I will not disappoint.”
A handful of shows have been confirmed to introduce the new drummer to the Nucleust fanbase. An east coast tour is being scheduled for June, July, August that will round out their Terra Cerebral album cycle. After that, the band will commence work on their second full-length album, tentatively due for release in 2019!
