Melbourne-based melodic death metal heavyweights, Orpheus Omega, are gearing up for the recording of their highly anticipated, and as-yet-untitled fourth full-length album. Now, the band are excited to reveal the first piece of news concerning the recording of the new record. Orpheus Omega will be joined in the studio by world renowned metal producer/engineer, Mark Lewis, this March. Known for his work with the likes of The Black Dahlia Murder, Trivium, Cannibal Corpse, Whitechapel, and Australia’s own Ne Obliviscaris, just to name; Lewis will undoubtedly add a unique touch to Orpheus Omega’s evolving sound.

The band comments,

After keeping quiet on the progress of the next phase of Orpheus Omega, we are excited to announce that we will be heading into the studio with world renowned metal producer/engineer Mark Lewis this March.

He will be joining us down under to work on our as of yet untitled fourth album and we are absolutely stoked to have him on board to help achieve our vision.

Mark has worked with some of the biggest bands in metal including Trivium, The Black Dahlia Murder, Cannibal Corpse, Whitechapel and Ne Obliviscaris just to name a few. We believe that this partnership will bring to this album exactly what is needed to help our vision become a reality and we are very excited to share this new music with you all.

The album is already shaping up to be the most intense and confronting album we’ve written and after 10 years as a band, the album truly feels like a complete realization of our musical aspirations.

There is plenty still to announce and release but we will do it as things become complete and we are truly happy with it all. We can’t wait for the next chapter that begins now and we hope you all enjoy it as much as we have so far.

Orpheus Omega’s most recent album, 2015’s Partum Vita Mortem (read our review here), saw the band rocket to new heights with their signing to Kolony Records and the movement of their sound in a new and matured direction. Continuing their climb upwards, in the band’s own words, their fourth studio album is “shaping up to be [their] most intense and confronting” yet.

With much more still to be announced, we expect the coming months are going to be quite an exciting time for the Orpheus Omega camp! Keep it tuned here as more develops.
