News : Daemon Pyre unleash ‘Unto a Dying World’ music video
Sydney’s Daemon Pyre premiered their new single ‘Unto a Dying World’ on triple J’s The Racket earlier this week. The band have also released a new music video to go along with the crushing new track which was produced and directed by Colin Jeffs. The track itself was recorded at Jungle Studios and Studio 201 by Lachlan Mitchell with the addition of Shane Edwards (Thy Art Is Murder, Hellions, Dream On Dreamer) took on mixing and mastering duties at his Thai based Karma Sound Studios.
This is all new material following up their 2015 self-titled debut LP.
The band comments:
“We wanted to release a video that encapsulated broad range of topics suggested in the song,” says vocalist Sam Rilatt. “Musically, the song is frantic…. it is heavy and noisy. Lyrically, the song is a lamentation. The realisation that whether it be through political disagreement. war, religious conflict, environmental disaster, or something else entirely, we are almost certainly doomed to destroy ourselves. When we began discussing ideas for the video, we agreed that we wanted to show, visually, the stark beauty of our planet and the people and structures on it, juxtaposed against the fairly bleak message of the lyrics. Our friend Colin Jeffs, really understood that and what we trying to do and delivered a video that we are truly happy with.”
Daemon Pyre will debut the track live this weekend, as they begin their Touring a Dying World tour in Canberra this evening. Daemon Pyre will also headline the Tote’l Metal Festival in Melbourne on Sunday, the 19th of November. Tickets are available below.
