News : Progfest returns in 2018 and extends to Sydney and Brisbane

By on October 11, 2017

Melbourne’s long-running Progfest will make its triumphant return in 2018. Progfest has now expanded to Sydney and Brisbane to follow the December 2016 sold out edition. The festival features every variation of progressive metal and rock you can think of and has become the staple festival for prog nerds.

This year’s line-up features a diverse list of bands, including; Norway’s Leprous (who will be headlining 3 festivals across Australia), Perth’s Voyager, Melbourne’s Alithia and Orsome Welles, Sydney’s Meniscus and Adelaide’s Dyssidia.

Beginning life in 2008, Progfest has grown alongside Australia’s love of progressive music and has become the centrepiece of the nation’s burgeoning prog scene. In the intervening years, the progressive scene in Australia has exploded and the bands associated with it are now a global force to be reckoned with. Many of the acts have gained huge followings from all over the world. Ne ObliviscarisCaligula’s Horsesleepmakeswaves and Twelve Foot Ninja have all headlined Progfest in the past, and each of them has gone on to crack the ARIA Mainstream chart and have global success.

Stay tuned for further announcements.
