DEAD BY APRIL blend musical extremes to an unheard and unprecedented level. DBA fuse relentless metal riffing with soaring, catching melodies that reach deep into your lungs, compelling you to sing along. There’s nothing quite like the resultant unique mix of lyrical rock sensibility and bone crushing metal dynamism that the band deliver.
Formed in Gothenburg in 2007, DEAD BY APRIL scored a massive number 1 in homeland Sweden with their debut single ‘Losing You’ and have since released four albums and racked up 75 million views on YouTube and over 150 million Spotify streams. With the release of brand new album ‘Worlds Collide’ (Spinefarm / Caroline Australia),produced with assistance from Ben Grosse (Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Alter Bridge, Disturbed), the band are thrilled to be able to bring the power and excitement of a DEAD BY APRIL concert to Australian audiences.
Fans all over the globe have discovered the unique sound of DBA and the band have toured the world with artists like Linkin Park, Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage and Slipknot ever since. Founder/ Songwriter Pontus Hjelm (guitar, vocals), Marcus Wesslén on bass, drummer Marcus Rosell and vocalist Christoffer Andersson apply more focus than ever to creating totally over the top performances for which DEAD BY APRIL are renowned.
For DBA, it’s about breaking rules and not giving a crap about what others think the music should be – right from the start the only thing that has mattered is focus and feeling! Ambition, creativity and musicianship are epitomes for DEAD BY APRIL with each member of the band devoting every moment to the music and the passion and unity essential to the band’s concept. This pristine devotion and ambition stretches beyond the small, dark cellars of the underground stages where their art was nurtured. DEAD BY APRIL’s aim is to bring their musical vision and dream to the entire world.
“This band nailed it. With two excellent singers fronting the band, and back up musicians who don’t miss a beat, this band is one of the finest in their genre. Stoffe is a great hardcore vocalist nailing the songs perfectly. Their intense live performances and the quality of their compositions is what makes this band stand out.” Alt Music Review
“If you’re a fan of modern and up and coming talent, then I highly suggest you check out this release. This album is in my top ten albums of the year… Another gem.” We Love Metal
“I wasn’t expecting the level of greatness that I’ve witnessed at The Underworld Camden that night. Stoffe is in this with full heart and soul.” Front Row Forever
