News : Insomnium announce Australia tour in May with special guests, Orpheus Omega
Announced shortly ago on Triple J’s The Racket (hosted by Lochlan Watt), Finnish melodeath royalty Insomnium have announced that they will be returning to Australian shores for a few select dates in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane respectively. Insomnium will be touring on the back of their critically acclaimed newest album, Winter’s Gate, which was released on September 23rd last year via Century Media.
Insomnium last performed here in 2015 (their first ever Australian tour), where they co-headlined with Sweden’s The Haunted.
Joining Insomnium will be Melbourne-based melodic death metal heroes, Orpheus Omega, who most recently released their album Partum Vita Mortem (via Kolony Records) to commercial and critical success on July 24th, 2015. The band has previously performed with Insomnium before, having opened for them and The Haunted at their Melbourne show at the HiFi bar in 2015. Orpheus Omega have now been awarded the unique position of national support for Insomnium’s three Australian dates.
These three shows will be Orpheus Omega’s ONLY shows in 2017 before the band hit the studio to work on their much-anticipated fourth studio album, so make sure you don’t miss out. Expect to hear a brand new track from the five-piece at these shows, also!
Orpheus Omega is currently offering a special ticket + t-shirt deal through their official website. You can find further information via the link below.

Finnish Melodic Death Metal masters INSOMNIUM are heading to Australian for their first ever headline tour.
After an unforgettable run of shows in 2015 supporting The Haunted, fans and critics were united in their praise of the bands crushing and dynamic live show.
The call has been answered; INSOMNIUM return:From the land of a thousand lakes comes a band with a thousand melodies that spawn a thousand emotions. Across six albums now Insomniumhave set melancholy, sorrow and the weight of long winter nights against the first sunbeams of a spring morning, beauty and hope. The result is a breathtaking journey in crafting melodic metal perfection. As they age, the heavy parts become heavier and the contrasts become greater.
Brutal blasting that ventures into the realm of black metal, gut wrenching balladry or straight up pounding rock. Insomnium take you on an emotional roller coaster.
One you will want to ride again and again, if only to further discover all the subtleties and minute details weaved into every majestic composition.Insomnium mark 20 years as a band this year after being formed in the Finnish university city of Joensuu back in 1997.

Their evolution continues…Insomnium are touring in support of their latest musical epic, Winters Gate, a multi award winning album and a defining moment in the melodic death metal genre.
