News : Brand New Track From Trojans ‘Mark of the Crown’ featuring Mark of Aversions Crown
Sydney’s up-and-coming heavy outfit Trojans are today beginning the countdown to their debut EP release – and are celebrating with a bang – dropping single “Mark of the Crown” and releasing pre-order details. The single features vocals from Mark Poida, vocalist from Aversions Crown – and purchasers will get the track instantly when they buy at iTunes from February 7th, when pre-orders open.
Trojans vocalist Jesse Vanderhurst said they were lucky to score the guest vocal from Mark, saying “We were absolutely stoked to get to work with one of Australia’s most talented vocalists. He was so easy to work with and while he has one of the most evil vocal abilities in the industry, he was such a friendly guy!”
He went to open up about the song’s meaning and what the overall theme of the record is about. “Mark of the Crown is a song about the displacement of wealth and power in today’s society. Far too often those born into wealth and privilege choose to further increase their already immense wealth instead of using their position to better mankind and help those less fortunate. We see the false smiles of our politicians promising the world with no intention of coming through with their lies, yet people eat it up, probably stemming from that inherent need or naive belief that someone will come along and be fighting for the little guy. Unfortunately, that rarely is the case, and with each new leader or person in a position of power, we as a people get pushed just that bit more down. Mark of the crown is also about hope and a warning of times to come. Eventually, people will snap, revolt, and destroy the system, that in its infancy was put in place ‘for the people by the people’ but has become so twisted and toxic along the way.”
“The Blissful Hollow” EP follows themes of self-doubt, seclusion, internal struggle and the battle of humanity’s internal demons as well as those that we face in our day to day lives.
Writing this EP was a rather intense time for most of the members of Trojans – dealing with the loss of family members, jobs lost, careers changed and a collective sense of isolation contributed greatly to the creation of the final product. The turmoil that the entire world seems to be in right now caused by religious upset, political heresy and an almost socially accepted and perpetuated greed, was much of the inspiration for “The Blissful Hollow”.
Despite only being 12 months into their career, Trojans are already climbing their way to the top of the heap. The 5 piece Groove Djent outfit from Sydney Australia who in their year of existence have supported some of Australia’s heavy weights such as King Parrot, Confession and also America’s Hawthorne Heights just to name a few – and making a name for themselves in the Sydney music scene too.
Trojans’ EP “The Blissful Hollow” will be available on Spotify and iTunes (and all good online outlets) on Friday March 17th – and open for pre-orders from February 7th – with purchasers receiving “The Mark of the Crown” instantly on pre-order.
