News : sleepmakeswaves to support Devin Townsend Project
Sydney’s sleepmakeswaves have had a pretty solid 2016. Since recording and releasing their recent album ‘Love of Cartography’, they’ve been back to the UK and Europe twice, China, South East Asia, New Zealand, North America, and travelled across Australia a bunch of times and shared stages with some incredible bands, including; Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, Opeth and most recently a very special tour with the reunited COG.
The news only gets bigger from here on. The band have been announced as the national tour support for the upcoming Devin Townsend Project tour next year in May. The mighty Devin Townsend last toured Australia in 2015 for a string of sold out shows across the country, and now this time Perth and New Zealand get to partake in the Hevy Devy experience.
Thursday 18th May – Powerstation, Auckland
Saturday 20th May – The Triffid, Brisbane
Monday 22nd May – Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Wednesday 24th May – 170 Russell, Melbourne
Friday 26th May – Capitol, Perth
Tickets for Devin Townsend Project’s Australia/New Zealand Tour with sleepmakeswaves in May 2017 are on sale now at mjrpresents.com.
sleepmakeswaves bassist Alex Wilson expresses his excitement for the upcoming tour.
So glad to be offered the opportunity to support Devin Townsend when he comes to Australia in 2017. It was a great surprise and honour to get the news while we’re hunkered down preparing our new album for next year. Really excited about the new music and live shows ahead.
