News : Lacuna Coil Australian tour + supports announced

By on September 30, 2016

Italian gothic metallers, Lacuna Coil, have announced that come this October they will be returning to headline Australia in support of their eighth studio album, Delirium. Announced by vocalist Christina Scabbia herself on a live Q&A panel held last night over Facebook, this will be Lacuna Coil’s first time over since their visit with Soundwave Festival back in 2009. Seven years is a long time, but this tour promises to make up for every second of it!

Now, with this exciting tour on the horizon, the supports for each Australian date has also been announced, and it sees some of our country’s most impressive talent set to open for the metallers from Milan. Melbourne’s Orpheus Omega will serve as special guest supports for the four-date tour, but will not be appearing in Perth.

All other supports are as follows!

PERTH
Ambient black metal proponents, Deadspace will bring their smorgasbord of misery drenched vocals, treacherously uplifting melodies and driving percussive integrity. Plus more mood swings than a goth teenager! Their just release EP  Gravity has quickly gained international praise for it’s adventurous song writing.
Cerebral metallers Nucleust signature blend of unpredictable riffs combinations, pounding poly-rhythms and sophisticated lyrical motives continue to push them into new territory. Inspired by everything from Classical Music to Doom & Goth, Thrash & Death, Jazz and Progressive Rock/Metal, Nucleust create music, that reflects what they perceive is happening in the real world.
MELBOURNE
Orpheus Omega have cemented themselves as one of Melodic Death Metal’s most promising newcomers.
Continuous national support slots multiple tours of Asia have refined their live set to devastating effect
Featuring aggressive and melodic guitar work, intricate and powerful drumming, chaotic keyboard work and a varied array of vocal stylings, their latest release, 2015’s Partum Vita Mortem has become a staple in modern Melodic Death Metal. Lead by their intense and impassioned front-woman Alex Reade, Drown This City have been at the forefront of the Australian heavy music scene all year. Combining their EDM roots with post hardcore aggression, DTC truly appeal to crowds of all kinds.
Beauty and brutality, electronica and riffs for days, you’ll be dancing or head banging…or both!!
SYDNEY
Orpheus Omega are no strangers to the Sydney crowd and pairing them with Sydney progressive metal wizards
Gods Of Eden is a stroke of genius. GOE push the limits of creativity and technical ability. Utilising acoustic guitars, orchestras, and electronic soundscapes to give enormous depth to their sound. Ranging from intense and overbearing, to sweet and intoxicating they create epic arrangements full of nuance, layers and richness. Watching them live is otherworldly.
BRISBANE
Orpheus Omega will play main support to Lacuna Coil for the third and final time to a familiar Brisbane crowd.
Flynn Effect have scored the opening honours. The female fronted alt-rockers add in electronica influences and symphonic soundscapes to give a distinct European flavour that perfectly compliments their theatrical live show

Iconic, Italian Gothfathers,
LACUNA COIL
will return to Australia this October for their first ever Headline tour in support of their 8th studio album, Delirium!

Lacuna Coil are best known for the dual male/female vocals of Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro; a combination that forms the most effervescent one-two vocal punch in rock. Their gothic imagery, down-tuned sonics and creative use of synths created a metal sub genre all of it’s own. Influencing generations of bands who have live in the bands shadow since they formed in 1994.

Touring Australia in support of their eighth studio album, Delirium, which was released in May via Century Media/Sony Music Australia, Lacuna Coil have delivered the heaviest, darkest & most entrancing music of their career!
