News : Opeth’s Sydney Opera House show is now sold out!
Dropping a couple of subtle hints on their Facebook page with a picture or two, the Opeth logo superimposed over a picture of the famous Sydney Harbour. Was an Australian Tour announcement imminent? Fans didn’t have to wait long as Opeth dropped a massive announcement a week ago for fans all over Australia – a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the Swedish metal magicians play in one of Sydney’s most historical venues, the Syndey Opera House on February 6th, 2017. After much anticipation, nail-biting hours spent on the internet and a nerve-racking wait, the show is now officially sold out!
One of the most innovative and influential bands of their era, Opeth will be heading to the beautiful city of Sydney for a very special show that will celebrate the release of the band’s 12th studio album Sorceress on September 30th via the band’s imprint label Moderbolaget Records with Nuclear Blast Entertainment. Along with the show in Sydney, OPETH also announced 2 more special shows at historic venues around the world in support of the record: Radio City Music Hall in New York on October 1st, SSE Wembley Arena in London on November 19th.
Fans that have managed to score tickets to this monumental event will have the chance to witness Opeth performing music from their upcoming album, Sorceress, as well as fan favorite cuts from their celebrated catalog. The absolute cherry on top of this already gorgeous cake? They will be opening the show with a special set featuring material from Deliverance & Damnation. And cue fangirl screams. Those lucky people who purchased a ticket will be left with a memory of a lifetime. This is really happening.
Thank you David Roy Williams, Metropolis Touring & Northern Music Co. and of course more than anyone, Opeth for making this event possible.
