News : Envenomed Unveil Their New Single + Music Video, A Skyhooks Cover
After teasing us over the past couple weeks with curious images of the band at a carnival of some sort, Envenomed have at last unveiled their brand new music video, and it’s none other than a cover of the classic Skyhooks track, “Horror Movie”! The original song – which was first released in 1974, and was the number-one single in Australia in March 1975 for two weeks – from Melbourne rock band, Skyhooks, became a staple on the radio in its era; and still to this day receives airplay.
In an apt turn, it seems fitting that a Melbourne based up-and-comer such as Envenomed would cover such a band; adding their own style and flavour to the glam rock track, and turning the classic Australian tune into a full heavy metal anthem. Better yet was the music video set to the backdrop of Melbourne’s famous Luna Park.
The music video itself was filmed, produced, and edited by Gareth McGilvray. Photography came from Tom Sheppard Photography; lighting and sound was provided by James Munro; costume production by Kerri Fraser; and, makeup design was courtesy of Cassandra Lowes. Furthermore, the song was engineered and mixed by Chris Themelco at Monolith Studios, Melbourne, with mastering by Tony Mantz at Jack The Bear’s deluxe mastering, Melbourne. Lastly, it was recorded at Ahhnolds Studios Inc, Melbourne.
Check out the music video below, and be sure to hold out for the full video for a sneaky cameo!
