News : Premiere: Départe share first track “Vessel” from debut album ‘Failure, Subside’
Last week, Tassie’s Départe announced the details of their debut album, Failure, Subside, as well as the accompanying tour dates. And while that was all well and good, audio is what we’ve really been waiting for. Below, we’re proud to have the premiere of the first new track.
You might recognise it as “I” from their demo a couple of years back, but it sounds like an entirely different beast now, complete with a title… “Vessel”. It’s incredible.
Frontman Sam Dishington comments on behalf of the band: “Our new track ‘Vessel’ is a reaction to deeply entrenched feelings of isolation and futility. It deals with the despair of being stranded in that place, that void, and even still finding peace, stillness, and victory, drawing you out into the light. From a musical standpoint, ‘Vessel’ is quite broad, touching on many of the elements you can expect to hear throughout the rest of the album. Dark, crushing and dissonant, yet in the same breath powerful and emotive.”
Failure, Subside is due out on October 14th through Season of Mist, with Aussie pre-orders available through the band’s own store.
Full track listing:
1. Seas of Glass
2. Ashes in Bloom
3. Wither
4. Grief Echoes (Golden Scars)
5. Mara’s Choir
6. Vessel
7. Ruin
