News : Winter Solstice Damnation Fest Returns To Melbourne This June
Winter Solstice Damnation, Melbourne’s own black metal festival, is returning for round two on June 4th at The Tote Hotel.
Last year’s edition had featured Adamus Exul, Ak-11, Cemetery Urn, Eskhaton, Voidchrist and Wood of Suicides, with this year’s instalment aiming to amp it up further.
For one night only, the Tote will play host to a who’s-who of local black metal talent. With both headliners Adamus Exul and Ak-11 returning, Deadspace (WA), Hordes of the Black Cross (who will be launching at this event their debut album, ‘Dawn of War, Nights of Chaos’), Chemical Cascades (QLD – playing Melbourne for the first time off the back of their debut record, ‘Time Worn Ether’), Mar Mortuum, and Greytomb join the fold for this year’s event.
The final act of the evening will be performed by the purveyors of misanthropy, ADAMUS EXUL, ever a band to keep things intense, chaotic and downright aggressive.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oPldNtg4YE Co-Headlining the second chapter of this dark Winter feast is the grim Pagan Black Metal of Ak-11, purveying the glory of carnage and destruction.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9i0SnDYIjM Making their first trip to Melbourne will be the up and coming depressive black metal/rock of Western Australia’s Deadspace. A brooding, schizophrenic and bloody ensemble of despair.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFCzLd57_c0 Fresh off the release of their debut album “Dawn of War, Nights of Chaos”, raw black metallers Hordes of the Black Cross will unleash a portal of chaos at this event.
https://hordesoftheblackcross.bandc amp.com/album/ dawn-of-war-nights-of-chaos Supporting their debut full-length album of astronomical and atmospheric black metal “Time Worn Ether”, Queensland’s Chemical Cascades will be playing for the very first time in Melbourne and they will send you into an abyss of otherworldy mysticism.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpIjL-rHMDo Opening the event will be the abyssal, atmospheric post-black metal of Greytomb, supporting their debut album “A Perpetual Descent” which is due out in April.
