News : Dreadnaught Push Pozible Crowdfunding Campaign For Production Of New Album
In this day and age, it’s not uncommon now to find bands opening the door to crowdfunding campaigns that not only assist with the creation of new records, but open that direct line to their fanbases. Melbourne’s Dreadnaught is the newest addition to this growing trend (that’s already seen the likes of Ne Obliviscaris and Orpheus Omega dip their feet into in the past, and to great success too). With old school heavy metallers Dreadnaught opening a new crowdfunding campaign via Pozible, the band are aiming to use this service to fund the production and release of their seventh album, entitled ‘Caught the Vultures Sleeping’.
In the band’s own words:
Its time for the seventh release. we’re currently recording and mixing and want to have it in your hands in July. But …. yep but …. we need CA$H to finish the recording process, master and press some vinyl and CD’s for all you good people.
Basically this is a pre-order … all pledges of $20 and up will get at LEAST a CD, $35 for vynil, $50 for both and an extra $15 on that gets you a very metal tour shirt.
this album is going to be the heaviest and fastest naught you ever heard !!!
yours in very heavy appreciation … Dreadnaught
Aiming for a tentative release date of July 27th this year, the project has already been up for a little over a week, and with still 34 days to go at time of posting, the project has already passed the midway mark of its aimed total of AUD $6000, and is currently backed by 72 supporters.
The funds will be used as a means for Dreadnaught to record mastering, the pressing of CDs and vinyl 12″ LPs, as well as t-shirts; “paying the dues we haven’t paid yet,” the band says.
Perks being offered include CDs, LPs, t-shirts, and a combination of two or all three. Ranging from $20 to $65 and up, you can pledge as little or as much as you please.
