News : Legions Of Steel 2016 Announce Full Festival Lineup

Legions of Steel Festival returns this year for its consecutive third year in a row. Presented by Espionage Bookings and Channel 31’s The Hard Rock Show, after two hugely successful ventures in 2014 and 2015 at The Bendigo Hotel and The Evelyn Hotel respectively, this year sees Legions of Steel return to its venue roots as it prepares to take up station at The Bendigo Hotel once more on June 12 as a part of the Queen’s Birthday Weekend.

Co-headlining this year’s event are none other than Melbourne melodic metal maestros Vanishing Point, who’ll be joining forces with 2014’s original Legions of Steel headliner, fellow Melbourne act and thrash metal aficionados, In Malice’s Wake. It had been at that year’s event that In Malice’s Wake recorded and filmed their live CD/DVD, Visions of Live Destruction (check out our review of the CD/DVD here).

Completing the Legions of Steel lineup will be a strong mix of five local Melbourne bands, as well as three from interstate With a few returning and some wholly new additions to the festival, as is stated in Espionage Bookings own words:

As the crowd never seems to get enough of them; HARLOTT and ESPIONAGE make their third appearance at the festival, with Melbourne’s ENVENOMED and SUDDEN STATE making their second appearance. ESPIONAGE BOOKINGS is pleased to have TABERAH (TAS), ASYLUM (QLD), SHADOWREALM (SA) and SKÄRLET for the very first time at LEGIONS OF STEEL FESTIVAL!

Pre-sale tickets are available now through Legions of Steel’s official big cartel page. As a special bonus, an exclusive promotional instrumental track entitled “Legions of Shred” by Melbourne speed metal five-piece, Espionage, will be available as a free download with every ticket purchased. The track features a staggering 11 guitar solos from various Australian metal artists including LORD, Elm Street, Darker Half, In Malice’s Wake, Envenomed, and so on; several of whom who have played Legions of Steel across its three year run (find the sample video below).

Furthermore, pre-sale tickets will also function as raffle tickets on the day of the event, with the prize being a bundle pack featuring an assortment of merch and/or music from all bands featured on this years lineup. Raffle tickets for all other prizes will be made available for purchase at the merch desk.
