News : Soundwave Festival Not Returning In 2017
So, I’m sure there are quite a few people out there right now like myself that aren’t too surprised at this news. Given the massive backlash Soundwave Festival has received this year for its rather less than stellar lineup, and the criticism show promoter AJ Maddah has been receiving as a result of this, apparently AJ is at last fed up with it.
On an article posted by Tom Mann at Faster Louder, it mentions the infamous tweet AJ sent out with the opening line of “Definitely no SW17” and the hashtag ‘#OverIt’. This came with AJ’s declaration of: “It’s a lot of hard work, stress & risk in return for which we get hate & stupidity.”
Right now the future looks unclear for the annual festival, but if AJ’s words are to be believed, then 2016’s Soundwave could well be the festivals last.
With the 2016 Soundwave Festival set to kick off it just 39 days, the first date will be in Brisbane on January 23. The festival will then hit Sydney the following day, with the event rounding out in Melbourne for its third and final date on the Melbourne Australia Day public holiday (Tuesday, January 26). You can buy tickets now via Soundwave Festival.
