News : Dumbsaint announce “Panorama, in four suburbs” tour
Tour announcements from Sydney’s Dumbsaint are always good news; the dynamic, cinematic (hyyyydromatic? Sorry…) music with accompanying short films make for shows that are more an art piece than usual gig.
On the back of their new album Panorama, in ten pieces, which we wrote a little piece on recently, the four-piece are heading along the east coast.
“This ambitious release not only marks a new beginning, but a fitting end to the past 3 years, which has seen the band release ‘The Auteur’ EP and ‘Disappearance In A Minor Role’ soundtrack and DVD. In that time Dumbsaint have played alongside This Will Destroy You (USA), Russian Circles (USA), Boris (JPN) and Earth (USA).
Containing 55 minutes of their darkest, most challenging music to date, the album was written over a year and recorded in late 2014 with producer Dax Liniere (sleepmakeswaves, Solkyri) in several rural and suburban studios. Mixed by Liniere over a 4-month period and mastered in High Dynamic Range by Sean Diggins, this record showcases the band’s intricate and unorthodox songwriting.
The ‘Panorama, in four suburbs.’ tour will see the band premiere select high definition scenes from the film, projecting them on stage and in sync alongside their live performance.”
