News : Pre-orders & first track for new Catacombs album are up
Melbourne’s Catacombs dropped the first new track from Sin, all 11 minutes of it, a few weeks back but now that pre-orders are available, here’s a reminder in case you missed it.
“We have strived to expand our repertoire in this 52 minute concept album, yet also dedicated immense focus towards the specific sound that not only highlights the concept but also defines Catacombs itself. Drawing upon the lessons learned from the first album, “Anguish”, and the nature of the upcoming melancholic release, aided the mastering of both the musical and lyrical direction of this piece. In turn situating it well amongst the full spectrum of emotions encountered within this perspective of what defines mankind. The album encounters an ongoing clash between ego and immutable logic, this only being superseded in intensity by the cacophonous realisations of one’s own transient nature. “Sin” was created to be a journey, dotted with moments of self-discovery and with eternities of sorrow, each seamlessly trading places and intertwining. We invite you to partake in this experience, to peer into the murky depths and shaded recesses of one’s own existential motivation, in an attempt to uncover what truly defines humanity.”
It’s sounding like a huge step forward but all will be revealed on Sept 12th when they launch it (an album launch on the same day as the album is released? that’s unheard of!) at Melbourne’s Central Club alongside Myridian, Atra Vetosus, Feralian and Sarspell. Full details on Facey.
