Album Reviews : Hate Internal – Infernus

InfernusHATEETERNAL-560x560All hail Rutan, the king of Metalpotamia. From his stints in Morbid Angel to his highly sought production and furious death metal band Hate Eternal, everything he touches turns to bloodstained gold. Hate Eternal’s new album, Infernus, is no exception. The album is a masterfully crafted and recorded piece of incensed savagery.

From the onset, the current three-piece comes out swinging, with barrages of frenetic solos, malevolent riffs, insanely precise blast beats and spiteful vocals. Every song has its own unique flavor, so the album never becomes boring or repetitive. Rutan isn’t one to add technicality for its own sake, creating memorable passages that enhance the technicality when it’s displayed.

Highlights include the Eastern-influenced “Infernus,” the frantically dissonant “The Chosen One,” and the despair-inducing “O’ Majestic Being, Hear My Call.” But honestly, there isn’t any one song that stands above the rest, because each and every one of these songs is monolithic.

Hate Eternal’s Infernus is a crushing album, and a must have for any death metal fan. Buy it. Seriously, what are you still doing here? Get your dick out of your hand and order the shit out of this.
