News : Red Fang headlining Cherry Rock 2015
It had been feared that Melbourne’s much loved Cherry Rock wouldn’t make a return this year after the cancellation of CherryFest last year, due to the residential development at the foot of AC/DC lane and the Pastuso restaurant. However, after some negotiations Cherry Rock will make a glorious return in 2015.
James Young, Owner and Booker of Cherry Bar explains:
The new residents can just suck it up, but we did have concerns with Pastuso because they are a very popular Peruvian restaurant open 7 days and nights a week. Thankfully David Parker and the guys are really good guys and we came to an ingenious solution. They host their annual staff party on Sunday 10 May and Cherry gives them all free tickets to come to CherryRock015. Bang! Deal done. Turn everything up!
This year will see the return of 2 stages, 13 bands and thankfully no clashes. Portland, Oregon Sludge metal kings Red Fang have been crowed headliners of this year’s event with special guests Beastwars (New Zealand), HITS (QLD), Child (Cherry Awards 2014 Act of the Year), Fuck The Fitzroy Doom Scene, Horsehunter, The Simpsons-inspired Doom Rock duo Dr. Colossus, My Left Boot and Los Hombres Del Diablo (NSW) with plenty more to be announced.
Red Fang are currently promoting their brand new album Whales and Leeches, out now via Relapse Records.
Cherry Rock 2015 will take place at Cherry Bar (AC/DC Lane), Melbourne on Sunday, 10th May from 12noon til 9:30pm.
