News : Japan’s “brutal orchestra” Vampillia touring Australia
Here’s something totally different.
“Vampillia turn classical music into hardcore – famous for their aggressive, chaotic performances with three eccentric vocalists, a body painted dancer, a macho man with a saw in his hand and a drug queen noise violinist, they call themselves the ‘brutal orchestra’.
After a sold-out Australian tour in 2010 and appearances at SXSW in 2011 and 2012, the band is celebrating the Australian release of the Pitchfork-approved album ‘Alchemic Heart’ and the recent ‘Rule The World/Deathtiny Land’.”
Vampillia are in Australia for headline shows in both Melbourne and Sydney, plus an appearance at the 2015 Adelaide Festival, with Wollongong’s circus-meets-folk-meets-metal band Troldhaugen being the more than fitting support for each headline show.
