News : This week in excellent album art: Lizzard Wizzard, Decimatus and Sewercide
If the string of artwork announcements this week is anything to go by, we’re in for an eyegasmic 2015.
First up is Brisbane doomers Lizzard Wizzard with this crazy cover for their forthcoming EP Dankrupt (ha!), created by “Justin aka big dick bandit aka poopooclub”, according to their Facebook page…
Ya’ll can expect a new tune from it tomorrow, and they’re also playing the following shows quite soon;
Jan 22nd @ Old Bar, Melbourne
w/ Diploid, Older Men and Mutton
Jan 23rd @ Crown and Anchor, Adelaide
w/ Hydromedusa, Watchtower and Tombsealer
Jan 24th @ Cosmos Rock Lounge, Sydney
w/ Jxckxlz, Thorax, Gvrls and Death Warrior
Jan 25th @ Town and Country, Sydney
w/ Summonus, Fattura Della Morte, Dead Architect and Los Hombres Del Diablo
Adorning the front cover of the debut album from Melbourne’s Decimatus is the rather metal piece below, courtesy of artist Godmachine. Catalyst For Rage will be released in the next couple of weeks, with the following track list just announced;
1. Catalyst For Rage
2. One Foot In The Grave
3. Erosion
4. Burning Bridges
5. Ill Fated
6. Ashes To The Urn
7. Usurper
8. Fate Without Faith
9. Half measures
10. Death Sentence (With A Plan)
They launch the album on Jan 31st at Melbourne’s Evelyn Hotel with support from Envenomed, Harlott, Armoured Earth and Trigger.
And continuing with the skull themes is Melbourne thrashers Sewercide. Armed with a new vocalist and drummer, their first EP is currently being mastered, with this awesome colorful artwork created by Tim Jacobus, with some tweaks by Marc from Sadistic Art Designs.
The CD pressing will be out via Infernal Devastation Records, with a limited cassette tape version coming out through Nailgun Murder Records. There’s also a split with Canada’s Sabbatory in the works.
