News : Judas Priest and Dragonforce Announce 2-day Joint Sidewaves!
Here’s one for all you old school metalheads and power metal enthusiasts! (okay, so this one’s for most people). Soundwave Touring have today announced that legendary British Metal Gods Judas Priest will be performing 2 sidewaves (in Sydney and Brisbane ONLY) alongside fellow Brits, Dragonforce, come late February.
Both bands are coming to Australia on the back of new albums released last year (‘Redeemer of Souls’ by Judas Priest; and ‘Maximum Overload’ by Dragonforce, respectively). These two shows will serve as a warm up for both bands before their individual appearances at this years Soundwave Festival 2015.
There have been some intense sidewave pairing ups in the past (such as Amon Amarth, Black Dahlia Murder, Satyricon, and GWAR; as well as Skindred and Ill Nino), but this has to take the cake. The sheer intensity and legacy of both these bands is enough on its own, but combined should prove to be a show no one will soon forget.
There are few heavy metal bands that can match the sheer brilliance, aggression and stature that JUDAS PRIEST have in a career spanning nearly 40 years. With over 46 million album sales, a Grammy award and seventeen studio albums at their disposal – including last year’s brilliant ‘Redeemer Of Souls’ – there’s no doubt Birmingham’s most famous godfathers of metal remain at the peak of their powers after more than four decades.
Having spent the majority or 2014 on the REDEEMER OF SOULS TOUR, the band tore through the USA garnering astounding live reviews. There are few heavy metal bands that can match the sheer brilliance, aggression and stature that JUDAS PRIEST have in a career spanning nearly 40 years. Renowned for their long, fast and furious guitar solos and high velocity live shows, fans should be prepared to be adrenalised!
Don’t miss your chance to catch live Britain’s metal might in all its glory. This is one show that we’ll likely not see for quite some time (if again at all).
Tickets go on sale this Friday (January 16th) at 9:00am AEDT via Ticketek, Oztix, and Eventopia.
