News : Mystery – Major Announcements
Only last week, Melbourne-based hard rock/heavy metal band Mystery officially released their sophomore album, ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’, the follow up to last year’s ‘2013’ (an album which was met with praise at the time by yours truly) and a record that was co-produced by Stu Marshall (Empires of Eden, Death Dealer, ex-Dungeon) and frontman Rocky Ravic himself. But that is not all! With a healthy touch of glam and hair metal glory to their name, the consistently hard working band have also unveiled the music video for their newest single, “Fight For You”, and are confirmed to have their song “Die Another Day” appear on the soundtrack for independent film, Return to Nuke ’em High 2 (a film which also features cameos from the likes of Lemmy of Motorhead fame, and others). The film is being distributed by Troma, a company most famous for the 1984 cult film, The Toxic Avenger. Further add to this, the recordings for Mystery’s third album entitled ‘Rock Revolution’ are well underway. Phew!
MYSTERY has become renowned for being appealing to a very broad audience and continues to be invited by promoters to return, time and time again. As Rocky would say, ‘Imagine mixing the ingredients from Alice Cooper, Skid Row, Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard, AC/DC, Dio, Twisted Sister, Guns n’ Roses and Bon Jovi all rolled into one modern-day band. We are the babies of all those bands.’The unique aspect about MYSTERY is that the band can not be likened to any single band, making their sound unique and together with the catchy songs, electrifying stage performance and visual appeal makes the band a truly fun and entertaining experience for a wide demographic.
Having already toured the world and performed at celebrated festivals with the likes of Steel Panther, The Sweet, Europe, Manowar, W.A.S.P., Twisted Sister, and many more, Mystery have continued to tour consecutively for three years. Building up a reputation for themselves abroad, the band has seen success with tours in Japan, Europe, and the US.
While for unknown reasons, vocalist and guitarist Rocky Ravic is currently the only remaining original member of the band, with the recent lineup change seeing previous members Kristian Iaccino (guitar), Tony Mlikota (drums), and Josh Scarpaci (bass) replaced by Izzy Angel, Ozzy Koshi, and Kei Bland respectively. However, this has not slowed Mystery down – or Rocky Ravic, for that matter – in the slightest. Currently in the throes of completely their third studio album, bookings overseas are already being made with dates in Australia confirmed also.
Check out this awesome anime style portrait of the guys as well featuring the current Mystery lineup!
