The debut album features 50 minutes of unadulterated heavy metal groove. The album takes an “all killer, no filler” approach, showcasing the band’s evolution whilst keeping to its signature roots. Stay up to date with the band via their official Facebook page.
With a palatable brutality coupled with a strong focus on energising grooves; Decimatus are proving to be a band teetering on the edge of national, if not international acclaim. With epic, riff heavy songs and a sound best described as a modern hybrid of bands such as Testament, Pantera, and Lamb Of God, you can be assured that this translates into one hell of a live show experience. The band formed in 2010 and wasted little time in paving their way within Australia’s thriving Metal scene.
January 2012 saw the release of their debut EP “The Betrayer” at an almost sold out Corner Hotel show. “The Betrayer” received many rave reviews; lending support to this band on the rise. By mid 2012 they released their second EP ‘II’ embarked on a national tour, were included on several festival dates and featured in magazines such as HEAVY and Terrorizer.
However, the true strength of Decimatus is in their energy fueled live performances. Their live sound and balls to the wall live show is a-kin to rolling thunder clouds, arriving with a commanding presence that demands your full attention. Their increasing popularity is testament to this.
2013 brought the recording of Decimatus’s first full length studio album at Legion studios with Producer and Engineer Julian Renzo (Scar the Surface, Jack the stripper, Hallower, Declaration). Their debut single “Usurper” is set to be released November 2nd at The Bendigo Hotel where Decimatus will see crowd numbers pushed to the limits. It has been a big year for Decimatus with not only recording their debut album but also seeing the departure of their ex drummer Adam Savino and ex guitarist Mark Mather. Decimatus wasted no time and saw a new beginning. They signed a management deal with Donarus Management (USA) and found new drummer Josh Rech and guitarist Pauly Brammer.
